The IMA conducts various events each year, including:
· An annual National Conference:
The location varies each year to different States and Territories, but the general format and value of the Conference remains constant. The format includes networking opportunities, workshops, presentations from industry experts, exhibition of products and services for the industry, as well as social activities. The National Conference provides the environment for members to update their skills and consider industry best practices as well as forging strong links with colleagues throughout Australia for the ongoing exchange of work and ideas. The IMA's National Conference is an essential event in the diary of the serious industry practitioners. The next IMA National Conference is to be held in Sydney, 19 - 21 May 2011.
· Seminars/Workshops:
As issues emerge affecting the industry, the IMA responds to provide the opportunity for members to workshop and attend skill updates. These workshops include events on a national and state/territory basis. When the ACCC & ASIC issued its Guidelines on Collection of Debts and amendments to the Federal Privacy Act were introduced, the IMA responded quickly with seminars and workshops for members. On the issue of industry best practice, the IMA in partnership with ACA International brought the Professional Practice Management System (PPMS) to Australia.
